Our surroundings without using the car

Val Udai

The lawn behind the house is wonderful. In the upper part on the right, at the edge of the wood, a small path begins which remains at high altitude and which takes you directly to Val Udai; in about 40 minutes you can reach the slopes of the Catinaccio and in the right months you can admire the Pis waterfalls.

Antermoia refuge

Having more time and good legs, you can go through the Udai Valley and start a more demanding climb: in an hour and a half you can reach the meadows of the Val di Dona and, with an extra hour, also the magnificent Refuge. Antermoia; once you reach the refuge, the mythical lake of the same name is obviously not to be missed .

The forest above the house

Cross the village of Muncion and start the road that goes up to the Gardeccia Refuge. After about a kilometer and a half you will find a clearing on the left and a house on the right. Immediately after the house you leave the paved road and go up to the right for about 15 minutes. At the end of the climb begins a splendid silent and rather flat wood. Walking along it you will find yourself in Val Udai and then you can conclude this loop tour. About an hour and a half.

The Vajolet valley and its refuges

It starts directly on foot from home to reach one of the most enchanting places in all the Dolomites, the Vajolet Valley and the area of the Gardeccia, Vajolet, Re Alberto and Principe refuges. The Gardeccia refuge can be reached in about an hour and a half. Once at the Principe, the more prepared will be able to "cross the hill", pass through the Antermoia Refuge and conclude the ring along the Val Udai.

At Ciampedie from home

Almost all of them reach the panoramic Ciampedie using the chairlift or the cable car from the valley floor of Pera and Vigo. You can instead start from the house on foot: walk for about a kilometer and a half the road that leads to the Gardeccia Refuge, you will find a small open space on the left, the ford of a usually dry stream and finally a sign with directions to go up to Pian Pecei. From there the road "rears up" for just 5 minutes and becomes sweeter immediately afterwards.
